This is the 2019 mix of the 2014 release: 'Influencer'.
There were no demos made for ‘Influencer’. It was actually written entirely on the drums. I had an idea to record 100 drum takes and make it all into one album (on 4 or 5 disks). Instead, I recorded about 40 drum tracks, chose my favourites and put guitar and everything else over the those. I wanted the lyrics to be humorous. I invented guitar lines on the spot. I’m almost certain ‘Influencer’ was the original name I slurred in a drunken stupor when I and a few others came up with the band name. It was a joke, but the misunderstanding of what I said ended up as ‘Influenza’ and we liked it. ‘Influencer’ is an experimental rock album.
